| Writeside Review is a journal of opinion with broad editorial focus: the arts, books, business, culture, media, politics, social issues, technology, the Internet. We review interesting developments in these diverse fields with an eye toward providing critical guidanceto the extent we sometimes succeed, our reviews are referenced by larger media organizations, such as KnightRidder's Good Morning Silicon Valley. The Review's credo is "literate commentary for people who think," and we try to serve readers with honest, useful information, engagingly presented.
We've been around long enough (since 1995) to have a sense of history, and you can see that reflected in our pages. In fact, we think you can profitably regard this site as a kind of highly selective Web museum. You can, for example, explore our back issues to find reports on the launch of Windows 95, the debut of Internet Explorer, the subsequent browser wars, and the Microsoft antitrust case. (If you follow this chronology, we think you'll conclude, with us, that the company deserves its comeuppance.) You can chart the rise and fall of a number of ill-conceived dot-coms. You can read about scandal in high places, find software reviews and get pointers to interesting books, exhibitions and music. Although change is constant, on the Web and off, we revisit our original reviews on a regular basis to provide you with updated context.
Writeside Review subscribers are geographically and professionally diverse, as befits our wide-ranging content. Subscriptions are free, and if you like what you've read here, we invite you to join us.
We also welcome editorial contributions from qualified writers. Please direct queries and submissions to the Editor: tpletcher@writeside.com. |
